ASEA® athletes Cody and Kathy Waite have been competing professionally in sports training and endurance racing for 25 years. For the last 20 years, Cody has been racing at the professional level in the road, mountain bike (MTB), and triathlon races. In the past 10 years, Kathy went from being a beginner to a national champion on the XTERRA triathlon scene and winning mountain bike races in the professional women’s field.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Together, Cody and Kathy make the dynamic duo of Team Waite. They run a cyclist training program together called Waite Endurance (WE) and have won the Firecracker 50 as a co-ed duo team two years in a row.

With 15 years of coaching experience, Cody and Kathy Waite have created effective training programs for budding cyclists. Their WE Development Team has been very successful over the last year, despite the pandemic. They won another national championship and have two riders that made the 2022 MTB world championship selection for Team USA.

Training Future Champions

Sofia Forney will be on the pro-elite team, and Mia Aseltine will compete one more season as a junior. As their developing riders grow stronger, Cody and Kathy are looking to create a Professional MTB team capable of competing at the professional level in national and international events in 2022.

While Cody has won multiple cycling and endurance competitions, he considers his recent performance at the Leadville 100 MTB his best effort yet, placing 13th out of over 2,000 other riders, including veteran Olympians and Tour de France riders. He clocked a time of 6:46:26 and gives credit to ASEA for helping him get faster as he ages.
