Triathlete Matt Roberts lives to train for the next big event. When 2020 hit, races started getting canceled and training facilities closed for safety reasons. Matt suddenly had to work around a pandemic to reach his goals, and that required new forms of training. ASEA® REDOX Cell Signaling Supplement was right there with him, every step of the way.

Adjusting to the New Normal

Early on, Matt felt frustrated because he didn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation, but as time went on, he became extremely grateful that he was healthy and that his family was safe. His appreciation for his body strengthened more and more as time went on.

“It’s always conflicting and unsettling to look back on tragic events knowing that your growth resulted in part by others’ suffering,” says Matt, “But by growing from this experience we can turn sorrow and heartache into gratitude and love.”

A Different Kind of Training

“There were several times I thought that by summer or late fall of 2020, races would be rescheduled and we’d be back to normal,” says Matt, “I had to figure out the things I could work with in terms of training and started doing those things. A friend and I spent more time outdoors and rode our bikes from San Diego, California to St. George, Utah.”

Matt went through a transformation in his training. With pools and gyms closed, he found ways to get in workouts by strapping ropes around his waist and using his children as weights. He started running daily. Normally he would only run forty or fifty miles a week, but with limited options, he was hitting upwards of one hundred miles per week.

Maintaining Health

With his health front of mind, Matt made sure to stay on top of his nutrition. Using ASEA® VIA™ daily nutritional supplements every day provides an elevated baseline. Matt says that each month when his ASEA shipment arrives it’s like a breath of fresh air, feeling recharged and excited to keep pushing on.

“People always ask me what my secret is to success or what shoes I wear, but the key to success is simplicity and consistency,” says Matt, “To become better at anything you must establish a good base and the same goes for your health. ASEA helps me take care of the basics so I can build upon that foundation.”
