Guest author and ASEA Athlete Breeja Larson started swimming in her senior year of high school. By the end of the year, she had a scholarship offer to swim at Texas A&M University. By the end of her freshman year of college, she had placed 2nd in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke races at NCAA National Championships and was awarded Big 12 Conference New Comer of the Year. She beat the American Record and National Title in the 100-yard breaststroke at NCAA National Championships. At the 2012 Olympic Trials in London, Breeja won the 100-meter breaststroke, landing her a spot on the US Women’s Olympic Swim Team. At the London Games, Breeja earned a spot on the 4×100 meter Medley Relay for the team’s breaststroke phase and won Gold. The following year she broke the American Records in the 200- and 100-yard breaststroke. She qualified for the World Championships held in Barcelona, Spain, where she was part of another Gold Medal-winning relay for Team USA.
ASEA found its way into my career early on. A family friend introduced it to me, and I started taking ASEA® REDOX as a supplement. I’m so grateful for the benefits I’ve experienced. I worked extremely hard the year I first added REDOX to my regimen, and it helped me recover from the weekly practices.*
A couple of months after my high school season was over, I signed with Texas A&M University to swim for the Aggies. At the end of my freshman year, I placed 2nd in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races at NCAA Championships, and at the end of my sophomore year, I had gotten my first American record in the 100 breaststroke. Shortly after that, I made the 2012 Olympic team, where I went on to receive an Olympic Gold Medal in the 4×100 medley relay.
All along the way, I took my ASEA supplements and became passionate about the products. When I graduated from college and entered the world of professional swimming with three NCAA titles, nine American Records, an Olympic Gold, and World Championship Gold Medal, I became an ASEA Athlete and ambassador. I’ve been proud to say that I’ve had ASEA products helping me with my recovery for 10 years now.*
By far, my favorite ASEA product is the ASEA REDOX pouches. They are extremely easy to travel with and provide an easy measurement of how much I want to drink before I practice. I like to use an 8 oz pouch of REDOX before and after my swim practice, as well as after my weightlifting session. It’s important for me to have clean products to consume, especially recovery products. I’m randomly drug tested by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, World Anti-Doping Agency, and FINA (International Swimming Federation) a couple of times a month. And every time I’m drug tested, I have to declare any supplements that I’ve taken.
With full confidence, I always list ASEA products on my forms, knowing they are non-toxic and clean to use. That is such a relief as an athlete, to know that your chosen recovery product will never be tainted or have cross-contamination with an illegal substance in it. I’ve seen the production facility where ASEA REDOX supplement is made and it’s top of the line.
Taking 24 oz of ASEA REDOX on the days I do two or more workouts makes a huge difference in my recovery. It’s helped me keep a routine and helps me stay healthy.* Due to my personal training experience, I trust ASEA. I never have to worry about taking too much. There’s so much peace of mind knowing that it helps me recover in a safe and effective way, preparing me to work harder at the next training session. I am forever grateful for ASEA.
