Michelle Salt Uses ASEA Products to Reach New Heights

As part of our ongoing efforts to spotlight our athletes and give them a platform to discuss their experiences, we will be featuring each of them in the months ahead as they cover various topics related to athletic training, competing, and their use and interaction with ASEA products.

Michelle Salt is a Canadian Paralympic snowboarding and wakesurfing athlete who received 1st place in the Canadian national finals three years in a row and competed in the 2014 and 2018 Winter Paralympics, placing 3rd overall in 2015, 2016, and 2018. She will be a featured speaker at the upcoming ASEA North American Envision Conference, 26–28 March 2020.

From Skeptic to Paralympian

I am probably one of the most skeptical people you’ll encounter. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the years on products that claimed to work but did exactly the opposite. Though I’m always willing to give everything a try, I’ll admit I wasn’t sure about ASEA® REDOX Cell Signaling Supplement at first. Then I witnessed what it could do for my overall wellness.

It was eight years ago now that my life changed—and nearly ended—in a motorcycle accident. The incident left me on life support for seven days with the slimmest chance of survival. I broke bones throughout my body and lost 75% of my right leg. Like I said, my life changed. And once I comprehended the unalterable effects of my accident, I decided then and there that I wanted to be a Paralympian.

Thanks to the gift of recovery, great coaches, more blood, sweat, and tears than I knew I had, and with the use of ASEA products in post-training and exercise recovery, I accomplished my goal to become a Paralympian within three years. And then I did it again four years later.

The Recovery to Take on Any Challenge

Since that time, I’ve switched sports from snowboarding to wakesurfing. And, whether I’m carving the white heights of a mountain or surfing the churning wake of a boat, having a prosthetic knee brings unique challenges to work through. Thankfully, having ASEA cellular wellness products in my life makes the training come easier. My recovery time is down, and I have the energy to keep pushing.* Out there on the boat, most people have their bottles of water on hand. I have my ASEA® REDOX.

It’s been six years since I first started using ASEA REDOX, and I’m proud to use a product that works for me. I find that when I’m taking REDOX daily, before and after my training sessions, and even on my rest days, it allows my muscles to recover quickly and adequately.*

More recently, the ASEA® VIA™ supplements have become a welcome addition to my routine. At one point, I found myself lacking energy and dealing with brain fog; no matter what I tried, nothing fixed it. Within a week of introducing the ASEA VIA supplements to my day, the brain fog cleared. I was able to sit in front of my computer for hours at work without losing focus.* Thanks to the VIA Biome probiotic supplement my stomach feels settled.

The Product Training Partnership

I’ve stood on 15 world cup podiums, have proudly represented my home country of Canada, and recently retired to pursue other passions. Though my sport has changed from snowboarding to wakesurfing, the training hasn’t stopped. I have to be mentally tough and committed to mastering my craft. That comes from the time in the gym 5x a week, out on the water 3–4x a week, and cross-training in the winter. I eat healthily, drink lots of water, and take my ASEA supplements religiously.

Thanks, ASEA, for creating products that change lives!
